Day Twelve: Wednesday, June 18, 2008
San Francisco. Tuna Does Vegas

In SF at the Adagio Hotel on Geary. Christine and I got up and walked down Geary over on Grant through Chinatown then down Columbus and over to Washington Square Park. The weather was stunningly gorgeous.
We jumped in line to have breakfast at Mama's where they advertise about always having a line.

It was crazy as there was a bunch of road construction going on in front of the place that was super loud. There were probably about ten people in front of us, but we waited outside in the sun (Christine waited in the shade) for 45 minutes or so. Once in the restaurant we had to get in a line to order and pay for the food.

Only then did you get to sit at a table. We began with a piece of Apple coffee cake I had a Northern Italian omelette with pancetta, bacon, mushrooms, and cheese. Christine had the California with bacon and avocado. We get to talking with one of the owners and reminisced about the days when they had a location in Macy's which closed in 1986 and one on Geary and Mason which closed in 1994. We are old.

We decided not to walk up to Coit Tower, but we did walk down to the bay and Pier 39 where we listened to a Salvation Army band and kids choir and then went out and watched the Sea Lions. There was a group of kids who had a tour guide so it was very informative and interesting.

We then walked around the Embarcadero to the Ferry building where we had gelato at Caio Bella then looked at the mushroom shop that had fresh porcinis at $25 a pound. We walked up Market and over on Geary and were back by 1:30 or so. It was so hot and we were tired.

We just hung out until we headed over to the Curran Theater for Tuna Does Las Vegas with Joe Sears and Jaston Williams.

Our seats were in the fourth row and the show was great. I'm not sure where or when but we had seen the first one Greater Tuna and then A Tuna Christmas.
After the show we tried to got to Blondie's but it was closed, so we went back to the diner at Geary and mason and split a patty melt.
