Day Four: Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Day Four: Tuesday, June 10
Well, I think I figured out that there are 72 days of summer beginning with Saturday, June 7 and ending on Sunday, August 19. I have always had this great idea for yearbook to do the summer coverage as the 72 or whatever days of summer. Next year's group loved the idea, but we'll see if they follow through. No one ever has before. Anyway so this is day four. Let the blog begin.

Day One: Saturday, June 7. We went to the Y's for Andrei's graduation and I wound up getting super alergic to something. I think it was their lawn.

Day Two: Sunday, June 8. I am sorry to say I missed church. I woke up at about 1:30 a.m. and didn't go back to sleep until 4 or so I slept in and then went to Zoe's water polo games starting at 10:20. I didn't get going until about 10:05 but make it during the first quarter. They lost both games I saw, but Zoe and I had fun going to Jamba Juice together in between games.
That evening we went to Jeff and Paula Cooke's with Gary and Peggy for dinner. We had gotten together with them for dinner before they went on vacation to Italy so they were returning the favor. Paula had also gone to an Italian cooking school so she wanted to cook for us. they had a beautiful home off of Secret Ravine road in the Roseville/Rocklin area.

Day Three: Monday, June 9. I went to school to work on workshop stuff. I needed to get my handouts for CSPA to Rebecca. They were due on June 5, but I begged for an extension and Rebecca was merciful. I slept in too long and didn't make it down to the yearbook room until about 8:15. I dd hunker down and manage to get all my handouts made, pdfed, zipped, and sent to Rebecca by 1:30 or so.
At 4 we had an appointment with the counselor down off Bradshaw and then were off to Tim Lopez's graduation party which started at 5.

Day Four: Tuesday, June 10. Finally, I am actually writing about TODAY. Nothing too eventful. Spent most of the morning working on workshop stuff. I love to putter and put together all my handouts and curriculum. My new Macbook Pro is getting the job done. There is actuall little reason to work at school other than the monitors are bigger. When I was at school, I was easily able to hook into the network and hook up a keyboard. With a mouse and a keyboard it is much easier to navigate.
Gary called about 10 and we concocted a plan to go walking together. Of course you know that one of the signs of being old is actually enjoying walking for fun! He drove over at 11 and we walked the loop starting on Winding and San Juan, through Old Fair Oaks, across the old bridge, down the bike trail back across the river upt to Bannister Park, across Fair Oaks Boulevard and over to San Juan. We got into a little trouble when we walked through the closed road area to get to the bridge. The worker got pretty frustrated and was muttering something as he sat there talking on his cell phone taking a break.
After the walk we headed over to Ettore's the have their famous hamburger. Gary had read about them in the Bee and he's been talking about going for a while. We split one and it really was amazingly good.
When I got back, Robert was chomping to have me take him out to buy shoes, so we went to Off Broadway shoes in Birdcage and we easily found some. They reluctantly he agreed to go to Costco and we got him some black pants for work. Christine had been out taking Gordon to the eye doctor and paying his bill on line, and Gordon was still here when I got back.

Once he left it was super nap time! Zoe is at water polo and Robert is working out some drama with Michelle. More to follow.
