Workshop Five-Day One: San Diego
Theme and advisers
Even Therese Lyons was here
Dinner at Dave and Busters
Had another terrible night of sleep. Weird dorm sheets and one of those lofted beds where you need a chair to step down. Got up at least five times. When I looked at the clock the first time it was 2 a.m.!
I just went for a run and then came to the library for internet. After I left the library I went and got a Starbuck’s in the student union and then walked back to the dorm area. Next is switching dorms. We will see how that goes. I hope I can make the room thing work for the girls.
I found Zura the dorm we were moving too and checked into my new room. It is the worst room I have had in a dorm in years. Very tiny, bathroom down the hall, and the craziest thing the elevator only goes to the even floors. So to get to my room on the seventh floor we had to sleep our stuff up a flight of stairs.
The session started at 10:45 with Howard and fun and games and it actually went quite well. I got on at 11:45 and did my theme thing until 12:30 and I thought it went well enough.

We decided to have lunch at the Pita Pit and on the way there who do I see but Therese Lyons! She was her to be with one of her schools just a day after her workshop ended. What an animal!
She sat through ALL my adviser session which went very well and even taught most of the kit part. it really was not a problem at all filling two and a half hours.
We finished with he advisers t 4:30 and hung around hoping the Internet set up person would show, but she never did. I had fun talking with Pam Englehart from Computer Support and she let me use her computer for internet.

AT 6ish we headed with Therese to the restaurant, Dave and Buster's with mediocre buffet food and lots of drinks. It was fun talking with Therese and others and I left about 8:45 as I didn't want to get stuck there. Back at SDSU I walked over to the library for a little internet action in case my stuff doesn't get set up at 10 as promised.
