Junior Olympics: Day 1
Dinner with Kevin Gubitz and Brittany Sharpe at Claim Jumper

I got up and ran a very short distance. We had our free hot breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and pretty crisp bacon. The first games were at Golden West College in Huntington Beach. The four days of the tournament cast $40 each. So when Kate arrived at about 9 we bought hers and the total for the three of us was $120! Zoe and American River B played at 9:30 and got beat by CHAWPS 19-1. During the break we drove into Huntington Beach proper to a place Kate knew called Jan's Health Bar and had healthy avocado and turkey sandwiches.
We stopped at a Target to buy Zoe some water and stuff and made it back for her 11:50 game against Great Lakes, a team from Ann Arbor, Michigan. They lost that one too, but it was a real game and close for a while. I think the final score was 4-1. Still no speed and firepower.
After the second game we came straight back to the hotel and took a wonderful two hour nap.
Then at seven we went and picked up Kevin at his apartment and drove to Claim Jumper where we met Brittany.

Christine got a tri-tip sandwich with au jus and I had a cobb salad and we split. Kate had salmon that she thought was yummy. It was all actually really good. There was a big thing about Diet Coke and lemons and limes and lemons and limes, I like mine pure.
We took Kevin back home and then came back to the hotel and watched So You Think You Can Dance. Chelsea and mark got the boot. One week to go for the finals.
