Leadership Meeting
The Beijing Olympics Begin 8/8/08

I did run my usual loop and then went to school about 8, I think. I worked on getting ready for the leadership meeting at 10. I wanted to get binders, an agenda, the short Thursday calendar and discuss what we are doing on the first two staff development days. I pulled it all together and the meeting went very well. I can't imagine not having had it. Kevin Barone, Julie Mallett, Jan Walker, Tanya Bringuel were all there. Jim Wagner called and said he was sick and Karen Greenberg was returning from a trip. And Vera made her first appearance back after her accident with BOTH arms wrapped. Apparently she has some kind of a break in each. It is going to be interesting to see how this year comes together. It also is going to be interesting to see what they do with Andrea's leadership position. Will there need to be a special voting?
We heard from Anne a couple of times and they decided to do Sacramento first before coming here. I think they arrived here at about 4.
All the while Zoe has been pulling all her stuff together for yearbook camp that they leave for tomorrow. We even got the printer working even though she had to go to Target to get new toner cartridges.
Anne said they wanted to take us out to dinner but somehow I came up with the brainstorm that what we should do is get Chinese food and watch the opening ceremonies. The whole 8/8/08 thing. So that's exactly what we did and everyone seemed very content. The opening ceremonies were really quite spectacular. I do love the Olympics.

We tried the almond milk they bought at the Blue Diamond store and watched the US march in and then went to bed.
