Gettysburg Battlefield Bike Tour
Visiting the New Visitor Center.
The Workshop Gets Underway
Got up a little after six and Dave and Mitch and I went out on our first bike tour of the battlefield.

We started on the north side of campus and the battlefield events of Day One, July 1. Dave Loney let me ride his bike and he rode an old Schwinn he had. I tried to take it but he wouldn't let me.

Silence and Respect at the Gettysburg National Cemetery
We went up into the cemetery and saw where Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg address and then headed back to campus. Dave figured that by the time we were all done we had ridden close to 15 miles.
New Visitor Center

The new Visitor Center which had just opened a few months ago is pretty amazing. I though it would be on the same property as the old one but they actually moved it south and east on the same road way back out of the way. We paid $8 to see A New Birth of Freedom, the new intoductory movie narrated by Morgan Freeman. It was amazingly good. Then we wandered through the exhibits and artifacts section which had a lot of great multimedia stuff. I lost Lynne and Sandra and then found them and because we had no phone service in the place we were late meeting up with Mary Kay. MK wanted to be back by three to check out her classroom and we still made it by then.
We gathered our stuff and they dropped me off by my room . apparently we were blocking the road and a cop flashed his lights and got out and yelled at us and I was sure we were going to get a ticket. I got into my toom 205 Breidenbaugh. One of the very cool rooms I had requested.
The opening was at four so I walked back over to the CUB. By the time that was done it started raining so we got wet walking over to dinner.
Dinner!
After dinner it was still raining so we all got soaked on that walk and apparently some adviser slipped and pretty seriously hurt her back.
The class went well. I have 21 I think.
We walked back to the Cub for Paul's Theme lecture then two grueling hours of theme groups
