The Hexol Crisis
Coming Down From Donner
Hannah Geyer Reception
Woke up at six and faced the Hexol crisis. Apparently someone (Manasa?) had used Hexol to try and clean the carpet in the cabin and it reaked. My eyes burned and it really smelled bad so we had to figure out what to do because the Keifers were going to rent the cabin starting on Monday. The best we could come up with was to try and rent a carpet cleaner from a grocery store. But we didn't even know if grocery still even rented them or if that was just a memory from the past. So we headed over to Safeway at about 7:20 and they were still renting them! The manager normally doesn't rent them until 8 but she got us out by a little after 7:30. Of course we had a Starbuck's and brought something back to everyone.
Long story short i figured out how to use the crazy carpet cleaner and upholstery attachment and I got the hall way and the bathroom cleaned. I thought I was done, but when Robert vacuumed the living room it started to smell of Hexol, so I did the living room too! We finished all the cleaning and were on the road by 10:20–home a little after 12.
Robert took a nap and went to work and Christine left for Nancy's to help with Hannah Geyer's Sacramento wedding reception as they were married in Portland in June. I went over at about five and ate and talked with the people I knew who were there including the Jerrues and the Laings (John Paul from soccer) and Chris and Pat and the Rooneys.
I brought food back for Gordon who was staying with us tonight. After he ate, we watched the Olympic trials and he went to bed at about nine.
